This article introduces the tools available when it comes to sharing your data. We outline three key areas of data-sharing needs:
- Internal Data Sharing – Collaborate within your organization.
- Public Data Sharing – Share insights with a broader external audience.
- Collaborative Data Sharing – Work with other partner organizations.

Share data internally
Eco-Visio offers several ways to share your insights with your team and stakeholders within your organization.
Exported Files (PNG, PDF, Excel)
Need to share a quick insight in a team chat or include a graph in a presentation? Use the Analysis module to generate and export data visualizations in your preferred format. Simply click the Download button to export graphs, tables, or reports as PNG, PDF, or Excel files.
Dashboards
For deeper collaboration, share your Dashboards with teammates by toggling the Share button. Other Eco-Visio users within your domain can access and save a copy, allowing them to:
- Use the Dashboard as-is.
- Draw inspiration or make further modifications.
- Reshare updated versions, fostering an ongoing cycle of improvement.
This flexible sharing system encourages iterative collaboration without altering your original Dashboard.
Reports
When preparing reports for broader internal distribution—whether quarterly, annually, or for a specific project—export a comprehensive PDF report from the Report tab.
Key features of Reports:
- Combine multiple Dashboards into a single document.
- Include Text Widgets to provide context, guiding readers through key insights.
- Customize the layout with just a few clicks.
Reports help present data-driven conclusions in a structured and professional format, making it easy for managers and stakeholders to grasp the project’s purpose, progress, and achievements.
Public Data Sharing
Public Web Page (PWP)
A Public Web Page (PWP) is the most effective way to present your project to the public and external partners. It allows viewers to interact with your data at the level you define.
- Easy to set up and manage directly from your Eco-Visio account.
- Interactive and customizable—control what data is shared and how it’s displayed.
- Embed seamlessly into your existing website while maintaining full interactivity.

Sharing Data with Other Agencies
Eco-Counter collaborates with organizations across the USA and Canada dedicated to providing people with transportation options and outdoor recreation opportunities. Data is vital in supporting resource allocation, project evaluation, and policy. With more than 6,000 counting systems actively collecting data, there is vast potential for data and knowledge sharing between cities, regions and other organizations.
As a strong advocate for collaborative data sharing, Eco-Counter provides multiple ways to share Eco-Visio data with external agencies.
Sharing Specific Sites with Another Domain
If you are an MPO, DOT or any umbrella organization looking to share specific counting sites with cities in your area (provided they have an Eco-Visio domain), you can request our team to share your sites directly with their domain.
Important Considerations: The receiving city will have permission to view, analyze, compare, and potentially share your data on their public platform.
✅ Pros: Enables comparative data analysis within the same domain
❌ Cons: Each site must be manually shared by Eco-Counter.
Granting Domain Access to a Collaborator
Scenario 1: Adding a New User to Your Domain
If you want to involve a third-party collaborator (who does not have their own Eco-Visio domain) in managing your counting systems or analyzing data, you can create a new user under the User Administration tab.
- You decide how many counting sites they can access.
Scenario 2: Multi-Domain Access for Existing Users
If your collaborator already has an Eco-Visio account in a different domain, you can request Eco-Counter to grant them multi-domain access.
- This allows them to log into your domain using their existing credentials.
- As the Administrator, you control which counting sites they can access and modify permissions as needed.
✅ Pros: Simplifies login access; you as the administrator retain full control over shared data.
❌ Cons: Each domain remains separate, so data cannot be analyzed together in the same Eco-Visio session.
API Integration for Comprehensive Data Analysis
While the previous methods focus on front-end data sharing within Eco-Visio, API integration allows access to raw count data from the backend for advanced analysis.
- Admins can generate API keys in a few clicks.
- Your software team can pull count data from Eco-Visio into your local database.
- API access is included with the Expert Subscription or available as an add-on.
Multi-Agency API
If you are an MPO or a DOT seeking access to the data of all cities under your jurisdiction, we offer a Multi-Agency API that aggregates data from multiple entities—with mutual agreement from all parties.
